Most flat plate centrifuges use closed impellers. The open and semi-closed impellers are easy to block due to the flow channel, and are suitable for the transportation of centrifugal slurry, liquid with high maturity or suspended solids containing solid particles. However, because the open or semi-closed impeller does not have or has a cover on one side, the outer peripheral end of the impeller does not have a good fit, and part of the liquid will flow back to the suction area in the center of the impeller, so the efficiency is low.


When the open or semi-closed impeller is in operation, part of the high-pressure liquid leaks into the rear side of the impeller, so that the pressure on the back plate of the impeller is higher than that on the suction port side, which generates axial thrust to the impeller. The centrifugal axial thrust will cause the wheel to contact the pump casing and cause friction, which may cause pump vibration in severe cases. In order to reduce the centrifugal axial thrust, some small holes can be drilled in the back cover plate, called balancing holes. The balancing holes can effectively reduce the axial thrust, but also reduce the efficiency of the pump.


The typical performance of the simulation technology of the flat plate centrifuge is to turn the knob to select the operating parameters (such as speed, temperature and time, etc.), and display the data with the pointer of the dial. The disadvantages are: the reading values of the selected parameters and data are subject to human interference between the operator and the reader, and the control accuracy is poor. Therefore, the error between the selection of operating parameters and the number of readings is extremely small. Because it is a programmable operation, a set of operating parameters can be programmed into numbers, which can be accessed and used.


The impeller of the flat plate centrifuge can be divided into two types of single suction type and double suction type according to the different liquid suction methods. The single-suction impeller has a simple structure, liquid is sucked from one side of the impeller, and the double-suction impeller can simultaneously suck liquid symmetrically from both sides of the impeller. Obviously, the double-suction impeller has a large liquid suction capacity and better eliminates axial thrust, so it is often used in large-flow applications.


The flat plate centrifuge is rotated by a motor with a rotor at high speed. In the past, the motor was a DC motor with a carbon brush. When the centrifuge is running, the carbon brush wears, causing sparks, noise and even vibration. More seriously, the wear of the carbon brush brings The pollution of carbon dust not only pollutes the centrifuge, but also pollutes the surrounding environment. Such pollution is not suitable for the health industry.
